Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology is increasingly prevalent in everyday life. While AI offers remarkable speed and convenience, it also presents new challenges that could threaten businesses and organizations.
The sophistication of AI enables not only beneficial uses but also empowers hackers to amplify cyber threats, such as fraud and manipulation, targeting business sectors. AI has broadened the spectrum of cyberattacks, making them more sophisticated and impactful.
This critical topic was discussed at the “Fortinet Cybersecurity Roadshow: Enhancing Cybersecurity Awareness in Facing Cyber Threats,” hosted by Hypernet Technologies in collaboration with Fortinet. The event took place at Hotel Tentrem in Semarang on Thursday, October 24, 2024.
Several expert speakers shared their insights and provided educational sessions, including Alvin Kasim, VP of Regional Development; Jevon Hura, Security Consultant at Fortinet Indonesia; Kurniawan Darmanto, Head of Security Consulting at Fortinet; and Ir. Arnoldus Triono from the Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN).
Addressing corporate cybersecurity, Kurniawan Darmanto highlighted that external factors—such as digital innovation, technological disruption, economic challenges, limited expertise, the overall rise in cyberattacks, and evolving regulations—influence cybersecurity decisions. He stressed that AI must be harnessed to counter these very cyber threats. Fortinet, one of the world’s largest cybersecurity firms, has pioneered AI solutions for enhanced security, including Contextual Gen AI, Big Data AI, Network Operations AI, and AI for LLM Leakage.
Beyond using AI, Fortinet Indonesia’s Security Consultant Jevon Hura emphasized the importance of Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA). Zero Trust is a cybersecurity framework based on the principle that trust is never automatically granted but must be continuously verified. This approach ensures that only authorized users gain access, preventing potential breaches and data leaks.
The Indonesian government has implemented legal frameworks, such as Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection (PDP), requiring businesses to secure personal data processing to prevent data leaks. Additionally, BSSN’s Regulation No. 1 of 2024 on Cyber Incident Management outlines further guidelines.
In light of growing cyber threats and regulatory requirements, Hypernet Technologies partnered with Fortinet to offer education and foster discussions on the importance of cybersecurity. This collaboration also provided a platform for business owners and companies to explore solutions tailored to their specific challenges and needs.
